As a Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University and the co-director of the Stanford Human-Centred AI Institute (HAI), Dr. Li revolutionised the field in 2009 by launching ImageNet. This massive, curated database of over 14 million labelled images provided the critical data scale required to train modern deep learning algorithms, effectively catalysing the current global AI explosion. Born in Beijing and migrating to the United States as a teenager, she earned her undergraduate degree in physics from Princeton University before completing her PhD in electrical engineering at Caltech.
